Fall Student Project Expo
The Clean Technologies & Sustainable Industries hosted a Fall Business and Education Forum, followed by the Fall Student Project Exhibition on Wednesday, November 13, 2019 at Hudson Valley Community College's TEC-SMART facility in Malta.
The Business and Education Forum gave business partners and school officials an opportunity to hear about the different pathways the program offers to prepare students for the workforce. Kate Maynard, Director of Planning & Economic Development, for the Capital District Regional Planning Commission discussed the Future Leaders in Planning program that was piloted over the summer with current ECHS students. Presenting with her was current ECHS senior, Lauren Conroy, from Stillwater High School. Also speaking at the event was Shawn Farrell, current ECHS senior from Mechanicville, who discussed his field experience with Momentive and how that impacted his plans for the future.
Following the Business and Education forum, students in grades nine through twelve presented their innovative solutions to real world problems. Ninth grade students presented their STEM activities, tenth graders worked on a renewable energy challenge, eleventh grade students presented their solutions for a water quality problem, and twelfth grade students shared their Capstone project developments. Students presented to business partners, educators, families, and government officials.
