Educators Awarded Grants from BSEF

The Ballston Spa Education Foundation (BSEF) recently presented over $6,600 in Fall 2021 grant awards to educators in the Ballston Spa Central School District for educational enrichment projects throughout the district. 

The recent fall grant cycle included the following awards:  $3,679.92 given to Brian Retersdorf, Ballston Spa Music Coordinator to purchase ukuleles for the elementary schools and $928 to Tracy Larocque and Marissa Bongo, High School Social Studies Teachers, to purchase collaborative station whiteboards for their self-paced learning classrooms. An additional grant was presented to Gordon Creek Elementary School for $2,040 to support Lego Kids in the Classoom (2nd Grade).

This December 19th marks the 25th anniversary of the Ballston Spa Education Foundation. Since its inception, BSEF has funded nearly ½ million dollars in enrichment grants to the school district. BSEF is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization with an all-volunteer board made up of community members whose mission is to raise and distribute resources for educational enrichment opportunities outside the realm of the daily operational needs of the Ballston Spa Central School District.
