Special thanks to all for making our 2023 Annual Pops Concert a huge success!
On Saturday March 11, 2023, the Ballston Spa High School Music Department hosted our Annual Pops Concert featuring our High School Jazz Bands, Bands, Orchestras and Choirs.
The Pops Concert is a fun concert that unifies our high school programs, grades 9-12, and is also our fundraiser for all of our music awards that are presented in May to our graduating seniors. We are proud of the work, time and dedication our students have shown throughout the years. Many of our seniors started singing in choir in third grade and playing an instrument in band or orchestra in fourth grade. We realize students are pulled in many directions, yet even through the hardest week of tests or numerous after school commitments, they still find a way to come back to music. Our annual Pops Concert is a great way to recognize all our music students and share their many talents with our community while raising funds to award our seniors as they move on to their future endeavors!
We also have help from our new Music Booster Club, Friends of Music. The Ballston Spa Friends of Music is a nonprofit volunteer organization created in 2022 by Ballston Spa music parents. Their purpose is to support the many various music festivals and concerts throughout the year. Volunteers help raise financial support beyond the school budget for middle and high school awards, student lesson scholarships, a biennial department trip, and more. This year we had over 1,000 people in attendance, over 300 students performed and raised over $2,400.00 towards our music department scholarships and awards! Way to go Ballston Spa! Thank you for coming out and supporting our program and our incredible music students!
