Malta Avenue Students Discover Sensory Pathway

Malta Avenue Students Discover Sensory Pathway

After many years of teaching and seeing students’ need for movement on days they don't have Physical Education classes, Malta Avenue Elementary School teacher Anne Cornell recently received support for and developed a Sensory Pathway. Students who need a break from their classroom to refocus, increase attention, or just get some ‘wiggles” out are now able to visit the sensory pathway in the school’s hallway and proceed through a number of physical activities. After they complete the research based pathway which focuses on balance, strength, coordination, and cross brain activities, the students return to the classroom ready for work.
