Malta Avenue Elementary School’s Global Think Tank recently held
the second annual international and cultural evening titled "To Malta and
Beyond!" It took place on the evening of Friday, June 7th.
Malta Avenue School enrolls most of the Ballston Spa School
District’s ESL (English as a Second Language) population of elementary
students. The school realizes that their community and school have rapidly
evolved and this evening highlights how Malta Avenue is preparing students for
these exciting changes.
The evening showcased student work that represents knowledge and
learning from various countries cultures. The school is interested in getting
students involved in multicultural activities that are available to them in our
community. There was also displays of student cultural artwork, African Drums,
Irish storytelling, a presentation from the Malta Avenue Student Council, Malta
Avenue Young Scholars sang some songs in Chinese, Penny Harvest had a display and
a display of Flat Stanley’s travels from around the globe.
Malta Avenue School would also like to thank our community
businesses for their donations and/or time: The Iron Roost, Mango Tree Imports,
Russell's Deli, Torres Tae Kwan Do, Tech Valley
Connect, Empire State English, and Zumba Atomic with Deb Spurgas.
