Geography Bee Champion for the Second Time!

On January 23, over 50 Middle School students competed after school in the School Round of the Geography Bee. Students who proceeded to the Final Round were:

  • Cayden Billings, 6
  • Evan Farrar, 6
  • Donovan Calvert, 7
  • Gregory Kaatz, 8
  • Alexander Wade, 8

By accurately answering two of the three questions in the Championship Round, Gregory Kaatz, is the BSMS Geography Bee Champion of 2020. This is the second year that Gregory has won the BSMS National Geographic Geography Bee. As winner of the Ballston Spa Middle School Geography Bee, Gregory advances to the next level of competition, a written examination to determine state competitors.  An examination score in the top 100 will qualify him for the state level competition which will be held in early spring in Albany, NY.  All state champions will advance to the national championship and compete for the first prize, a college scholarship, at the national competition in May in Washington, D.C.
