Student’s Transform Energy Using a Bicycle Generator
In 7th grade science students are studying the 6 forms of energy. Students take turns riding a bicycle attached to an electric motor to explore the different forms of energy. The electric motor powers a switch board which controls high efficiency and low efficiency light bulbs as well as an electric leaf blower. Students examine the flow of energy from one for to another and how it changes. They also compare how much energy they can harness by blowing a ping pong ball into the air using the leaf blower.
