    The district’s FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) Team 3044 recently received the Engineering Design Award during the FIRST Robotics Competition 2021 New York & Quebec Regional Awards Show.

  • Students Win Regional Envirothon Competition

    The members of the Ballston Spa High School Envirothon Team recently competed in the Saratoga Regional Envirothon Competition where they were named both the Saratoga County Winner as well as the Grand Champions of the regional event.

  • Graduation Livestream Link

    Today’s the day – Congratulations to the Class of 2021! Ballston Spa High School will host the Class of 2021 Commencement Ceremony on Thursday, June 24th, 2021 at 4 pm at SPAC. Over 300 students are scheduled to cross the stage and receive their diploma during a traditional graduation exercise. Speakers include the class leaders, high school and district leaders and the Board of Education president. The ceremony will be available via livestream at https://spac.uscreen.io/pages/ballstonspa (No username/password are required). Restrictions that were previously in place including masking, social distancing, COVID testing or proof of vaccination, and limitations on capacity have now been lifted. Individuals who are unvaccinated should continue to wear a mask during the event for the safety of them self and others. Vaccinated individuals are certainly welcome to wear masks.

  • BSpa Honors Varsity Letter Athletes

    The District’s Athletic Department recently honored graduating athletes who earned eight or more Varsity letters during their participation in high school athletics. They were presented for recognition at a Board of Education on June 16, 2021 and congratulated for their accomplishments.

  • BSCSD and HVCC to Open “Spa Academy”

    Malta, N.Y. – Ballston Spa Central School District and Hudson Valley Community College are teaming up once again to launch a new and innovative high school model called the Spa Academy. Opening in the fall, the Academy is a “school within a school” model tailored to students’ individual needs and designed to allow high school students to complete a portion of their studies in a college environment and earn college credit at the same time.

    Senior Send Off - Come celebrate with a Community parade. STUDENTS: WHEN: THURSDAY June 10th, 2021 decorate your cars, wear caps and gown, & designate a driver! WHERE: Start at the HS. Look for your arrival time below. PLEASE be on time! Parade route for guests and family to say goodbye-- Ballston Ave, right onto 67.Left onto Milton Ave. Up to Ocean Job lot to end the parade. All Faculty- sidewalk by Ballston Ave and/or in town TIME: Please look for your arrival time by the first letter of your last name. Be on time. Only a senior student and driver at the HS. Back your car into your senior parking spot upon arrival to school in the morning. If you don't have an assigned senior spot-- park in the bus loop after 2:45pm. ARRIVAL TIMES: 3:00 (A- M) AND 3:10 (N- Z). Juniors will be there to guide you. PARADE kicks off at 3:30 PM!

  • Ballston Spa Honors College Bound Athletes

    The Ballston Spa Central School District’s Athletic Department recently held a recognition ceremony for graduating athletes who are joining a Division l or ll level college team next year. The ceremony was held in the Ballston Spa High School Library on Thursday, June 3, 2021. Students recognized, their college and sport include: Ana Gold, Duke University, softball; Antonio Rossetti, Mercyhurst College, lacrosse; Gregg Dort Jr., Frostburg State University, lacrosse; Erik Gottmann, Virginia Military Institute, lacrosse; Heather Pritchard, Southern Connecticut State University, lacrosse; Corinne Pepper, Monmouth University, swim; and Chance Checca, Marshall University, baseball.   • BSHS Envirothon Team wins Regional!

    The members of the Ballston Spa High School Envirothon Team recently competed in the Saratoga Regional Envirothon Competition where they were named both the Saratoga County Winner as well as the Grand Champions of the regional event. The event was held virtually this year due to the current pandemic and COVID-19 restrictions. The win made the team eligible to compete in the virtual NY State Envirothon Competition on May 25-28, 2021. Members of the Ballston Spa High School team include Zach Baskin, Erin Battaglia, Celine Cammarere, Jakob Nichols, Alyssa Stoffel, and Cameron McKay (alternate). The team was coached by Ballston Spa High School Science instructor Mrs. Marcotullio.

  • BSHS/ECHS Student wins International Poetry Competition!

    Tyler Cook, a junior at Clean Tech Early College High School and BSHS, won an international poetry competition offered by the Global Learning in Agriculture initiative GLAGCreates in partnership with Poetry X Hunger. Submissions to the contest were received from locations around the globe, including Honduras and Malawi. Tyler’s poem, Hunger Pains, was unanimously selected as the overall winner of this contest by a panel of professional poets. It was celebrated at a Poetry Café event attended by an audience of over 100 international food security experts, professional poets, and others invested in eradicating hunger. To further honor his work, The Global Teach Ag! Network (GLAG) asked hunger warriors from all over the world to read sections of Tyler's work and has compiled these into a video reading of the poem that is being used as a call to action to inspire others to work to end hunger.

  • BSpa Softball Booster Club Receives Generous Support

    The Ballston Spa Softball booster club recently accepted a generous donation at the conclusion of a fundraiser held in conjunction with the opening of a new business in Malta. As part of the grand opening kickoff of the new Jersey Mike's sub shop in Malta the Ballston Spa Softball Booster Club was selected as the recipient of their local fundraising campaign. Utilizing coupons provided by the shop, the club was able to raise $2,000 in just a few days. Representatives of the club recently visited the shop and received the donation including (left to right in photo) Lynn Donnelly, Booster Club President; Kim Russell, Vice President; Jessica Skillings, Secretary; Hadley Donnelly; Julia Russell; Allie Piscitelli; Emily Skillings; Toby Youngblood, JV Coach; and Greg Malm, Store Manager.

  • FREE Meal Program for all BSpa students

    FREE Meals for Ballston Spa Students Our food service continues to prepare FREE meals for all students in the district- for both in-school students and remote learners. Families of remote learners are able to pick up at Gordon Creek Elementary School twice a week. Meals for remote learning students may be picked up at the Gordon Creek Elementary School (on Rt 67 just west of the village), between 1:15 and 2:15 pm on Mondays and Wednesdays. Deliveries are not available.
