  • Wellness Expo 2020 & Scotties 5K

    A districtwide Wellness Day focused on health and wellness will be held on April 4, 2020 from 9:00 am-12:30 pm at the BSMS/HS Complex. Everyone in the Ballston Spa school community is invited to join together for the 5th Annual Scotties Stampede 5k at 9:00 am at the district’s tennis courts on Garrett Road. The Wellness Expo will immediately follow, from 9:30 am – 12:30 pm in the High School cafeteria/gymnasium.

  • Students Explore Science & Engineering

    The Ballston Spa Middle School recently welcomed the Rensselaer Engineering Ambassadors into the school to share research topics that they have studied at RPI and to inspire the students about the role of engineering and technology in society.

  • Sensational Soul at Malta Ave

    Students from Malta Avenue Elementary School had the opportunity to participate in a SPAC Dance Residency program again this year. For the first time, the students performed “Sensational Soul,” which featured music by Aretha Franklin, Ray Charles, Stevie Wonder, and many others.

    Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 358 in Ballston Spa honored two Ballston Spa teachers during a recent awards ceremony. The Veterans of Foreign Wars offer a variety of nationally accredited awards and scholarships for both students and teachers.

  • Scotties BackPack Program Continues to Receive Community Support

    Applied Materials employees participated in the Malta 5K earlier this school year and based upon the number of employees that participated, the Malta 5K awarded $200 to their charity of choice, which was the Gordon Creek BackPack program in Ballston Spa. The program provides meals for students on weekends and currently serves over 40 Gordon Creek students.

  • Robotics Team Qualifies at Ballston Spa Tournament

    Ballston Spa High School’s FIRST Robotics Team #3044 and FIRST Tech Challenge Team #6945 recently hosted a Hudson Valley FIRST LEGO League (FLL) Qualifying Tournament. Eight FLL teams participated in the tournament.

  • Robotics Team Hosts FLL Tournament

    Ballston Spa High School’s FIRST Robotics Team 3044 will be hosting a Hudson Valley FLL Qualifying tournament on December 14, 2019. There will be nine FIRST LEGO League (FLL) teams representing area schools competing in the tournament. The top teams have the opportunity to advance on to a Championship Tournament at Dutchess Community College on February 8, 2020.
