    Transportation Daycare Form due July 30, 2021

    Daycare Transportation requests for the 2021-22 school year are due by this Friday, July 30, 2021. Additionally, bus changes received after August 13, 2021 will not go into effect until Monday, September 20, 2021.

    As we work on the development of our plan for funding from the Federal Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief Fund allocated by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPR-ESSER) as well as the plans for other federal, state, and local funding including next year’s District budget, we are seeking feedback from parents, faculty and staff, and other community members as to what initiatives should be considered as priorities.

    Students Earn New York State Seal of Biliteracy

    Seventy-five graduating students in the Ballston Spa High School Class of 2021 recently qualified for the New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB) and received the seal on their diploma at the BSHS graduation ceremony in June.

  • A Message from the Superintendent - re: Summer Program Update

    The number of positive COVID cases in the region is again going up which has led to the 7-day percent positive in Saratoga County to go back above 3% and our CDC classification for community transmission to move from “Low Risk” to “Moderate Risk”. While we are not changing our current plan at this time, we are watching the conditions carefully.

  • BSCSD Student/Staff COVID-19 Vaccination Opportunity - 7/30 at BSHS

    Adirondack Health and Wellness will be holding a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for BSCSD staff and students ages 12 and older. The clinic will be held at the Ballston Spa High School on July 30, 2021 (1st dose) and August 20, 2021 (2nd dose). They will administer Pfizer vaccine to students and staff members. Individuals receiving the FREE shots must be available on both dates to complete the immunization.

    As a follow up to my Friday update to you regarding the flexibility that the NYS Department of Health has provided to school districts on mask wearing, Masks are now optional for our students in any of the programs (academic or clubs/camps) that are being run in our schools this summer.

    The Ballston Spa Teachers’ Association is proud to award $6,500 in scholarships to five graduating seniors in two categories - the BSTA Field of Education Scholarship and the Community Service/First Responder Scholarship. Congratulations to these well deserving students!

    Effective Tuesday, June 8th, the Ballston Spa Central School District will no longer require masks to be worn by students, staff, or visitors while they are outdoors on our campuses including for interscholastic sports.

    Ballston Spa Honors College Bound Athletes

    The District’s Athletic Department recently held a recognition ceremony for graduating athletes who are joining a Division l or ll level college team next year. Congratulations to all the athletes, their families and also a big thank you to their coaches.

    Board of Education Special Elections - Vote June 22

    There was a tie between two write-in individuals during the Board of Education elections on May 18, 2021. As a result, a special runoff election will be held on June 22, 2021. There will be no write-in candidates for this election. The person with the highest number of votes will assume the third seat on the Board of Education starting in July. A Meet the Candidates Night will be held on June 15, 2021 at 7:00 pm in the Ballston Spa High School Library so area voters can learn more about the two candidates.

  • Board of Education Meeting - June 16, 2021

    The next regular meeting of the Board of Education (BOE) will be held starting at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 in the BSHS Library. It will include recognition of BSHS athletes earning 8+ Varsity Letters. Please note that masks are still required in K-12 schools.

  • Feedback Requested on Changes to Reopening Plan - re: Mask Wearing Outside

    The District is seeking feedback on the proposed change to our reopening plan where we would no longer require students or staff to wear masks while outside on school property for class, recess, club activities, or school sports. Your feedback will help us in our decision.
