We are asking parents to now fill out a 2020 Student Registration form for each student for our hybrid in-person/remote or fully remote learning model (currently scheduled to begin October 5th). This registration process will allow us to know exactly how many students will be attending each of the two models and allow us to finalize our hybrid in-person/remote model.

  • Positive COVID-19 Case at BSCSD

We were just notified by the Saratoga County Department of Health that one of our employees has tested positive for the COVID – 19 virus. Because the individual was involved in a training on campus this week, we have started our tracing protocol to determine who was in contact or in proximity to this person and that list will be sent to the county. Employees affected by this will be contacted directly by the Department of Health and quarantining measures will be implemented based on the degree of contact. As a result of this incident, today's 4pm community forum regarding our Reopening Plan will be postponed. Please plan to attend tomorrow evening‘s presentation which will be held at 6:00pm. This evening’s Code of Conduct Policy Hearing will take place virtually as will the regular Board of Education Meeting at 7:00pm. Please see the links for both meetings on our District website.

  • A Message from the Superintendent - 08.14.20

As I noted in my communications with you last Friday, Governor Cuomo has announced that schools may reopen, but that it was up to school district superintendents to make the final decision as to whether they will reopen so long as the regional infection rates remain low. I am writing today to announce the very difficult decision that I have made in this regard. In short, while our first day of instruction for all students remains Monday, September 14 via remote learning, in-person learning at the Ballston Spa Central School District will not begin until Monday, October 5.

  • A Message from the Superintendent - 08.07.20

As some of you are aware, the Governor announced this afternoon (with a good deal of nuancing) that schools are to reopen in September under the rules set forth by the Departments of Health and Education. The Governor will monitor the data between now and then and if there is a spike in positive COVID 19 cases, he will change his decision.
