The Board of Education is the official policy-making body of the Ballston Spa School District. The Board of Education is comprised of seven school district residents who are elected by voters to three-year terms in the annual election each May. The terms of office are staggered so that up to three members are elected each year.
Board members serve without compensation. Board members attend at least two regular Board of Education meetings each month along with committee meetings and various school-related activities. At the annual organizational meeting in July, the Board elects a president and vice-president.****Nominating petitions for the May 16, 2023 school board election are available at the District Office between the hours of 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The completed nominating petition and first Expenditure Statement are due back at the District Office no later than 5:00 p.m., Monday, April 17, 2023
Individuals seeking election to the Board of Education must submit a petition 30 days before the annual vote on the third Tuesday in May (for inclusion on the ballot). There are typically 2 or 3 positions available for three year terms beginning on July 1st of the coming school year.
