Partners in Higher Education

The Ballston Spa Central School District is proud to partner with our colleagues in Higher Education to offer the best educational opportunities for students and staff. Check back often to see how we continue to grow our programs and work together to create new and diverse learning experiences. 

Hudson Valley Community College, Schenectady Community College and Mildred Elley are 2-year colleges that partner with us to offer a wealth of University in the High School opportunities for our students, from Calculus to the Arts. We are excited to offer coursework at Ballston Spa High School in partnership with Mildred Elley including advanced studies in Digital Photography and Video Game Design.    

Union College, a 4-year College in Schenectady, is a partner with our High School Residential Fuel Cell project.

University at Albany (UAlbany) partners with the district in several initiatives, including University in the High School, an Astrobiology initiative with the Department of Atmospheric and Environmental Sciences, and our Nanotechnology coursework is supported by the College of Nanoscale Science and Engineering.  The School of Social Welfare is also supporting the district in developing strategies regarding drop out prevention.

Empire State College supports continued professional development for staff and offers unique distance learning opportunities.

Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) is also is a member of our University in the High School consortia, and has been supporting a Lego Robotics Math and Science initiative for our students and staff in grades 5-8. This work is in collaboration with RPI's Center for Initiatives in Pre-College Education.
