Title 1 Schools
Ballston Spa Middle School and Wood Road Elementary School have been designated as Title 1 schools for the school year.
As a Title 1 school, in compliance with the provisions of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, parents in these schools have the right to request information regarding the professional qualifications of their child's classroom teacher(s). Specifically included is your right to know:
- Whether the teacher has met state qualifications in licensing criteria for the grade levels and subject areas in which the teacher provides instruction;
- Whether the teacher is teaching under emergency or other provisional status through which state qualifications or licensing criteria have been waived;
- The baccalaureate degree major of the teacher and any other graduate certification or degree held by the teacher, and field of discipline of the certification or degree; and
- Whether your child is provided services by paraprofessionals and, if so, their qualifications.
