Thank you to the Ballston Spa Transportation Department for donating books to our Milton Terrace Students. We appreciate your generosity.
The Penny Harvest Committee brought all the pennies out to the SEFCU mobile branch Tuesday, December 4th. The committee was very excited to help and will be working hard to pick an organization to receive our donation. We are all anxiously waiting to see the final total that Milton Terrace collected! STAY TUNED!
Launching Pad Productions, the Ballston Spa Middle School Drama Club is preparing for their winter musical, Honk! Jr. Based on Hans Christian Andersen’s beloved fable, “The Ugly Duckling,” Honk! is a heartwarming celebration of what makes us special. Ugly (Keith DuBois) looks quite a bit different from his darling duckling brothers and sisters. The other animals on the farm are quick to notice and point this out, despite his mother's protective flapping (Rachel Camilli). Feeling rather foul about himself, the little fowl finds himself on an adventure of self-discovery, all the while unknowingly outwitting a very hungry Cat (Katie Benanto). Along the way, Ugly meets a whole flock of unique characters and finds out being different is not a bad thing to be. Honk will be performed by a cast of over 50 students with another 60+ crew members putting the show together behind the scenes. Performances will be held on Thursday, January 31, Friday, February 1, Friday, February 8, and Saturday, February 9 at 7:00. There will also be a matinee performance at 1:00 on Saturday, February 9. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for students and senior citizens and can be purchased at the door before each performance.
Milton Terrace Elementary School received recognition from the NYS Northeast Region PTA for earning a National PTA School of Excellence designation for the third time based on their achievement in building effective family-school partnerships. This past summer, applications were reviewed from PTAs and schools across the country, and Milton Terrace once again demonstrated how they stood out as nationwide leaders in developing partnerships with families in the school community. The school previously earned the designation twice, most recently in September 2016. Research shows that when families and schools work together, student achievement increases, schools improve and communities grow stronger. Being recognized as a National PTA School of Excellence demonstrates the school’s leadership and commitment to partnering to support student success and continuous school improvement.
