Mental Health Services
The district’s partnership with Parsons Child and Family Center continues to provide services for students and their families at a school-based Behavior Health Services Clinic. The school-based clinic is designed to provide high quality mental health services that positively impact school performance and strengthen parental involvement in the school community.
The secondary school clinic is located in the Middle School and services are easily accessible for the students and families in grades 6-12. The elementary clinic is available for all of the elementary families and centrally located in Milton Terrace Elementary School, at the school complex on Wood Road.
It creates a win-win situation when students and their families are able to receive the assistance they need at a familiar setting and during the school day. The satellite clinic provides assistance to students and families including clinical social work and psychiatric services. The district wide services supported by the clinic include Response to Intervention (RtI), Positive Behavioral Intervention Services (PBIS), behavioral assessments and crisis intervention. Throughout the school day and after school, children and families can receive individual, group, and family counseling. Additionally, on-site mental health evaluations and medication management can take place with a licensed psychiatrist.
The Health Services Clinic accepts private insurances and Medicaid to cover the costs for students and families seeking clinical and site based services. For additional information please contact the Pupil Services Office at 884-7200 ext. 4317.
