2021-2022 Budget Development

  • The development of the 2021-2022 General Fund Operating Budget officially began on November 18, 2020 with the presentation of the Budget Principles document to the Board of Education.

At the December 16 meeting, the Board was presented with the 2021-22 Budget Goals document. As we progress through the development process, we will be guided by these documents which, in sum, suggest that we will provide the best possible program opportunities to our students within the confines of the tax paying community.

The Board of Education approved a proposed budget at the April 21, 2021 Board of Education meeting. The final budget presentation is posted at the link to the left.

The mandated School District Annual Budget Hearing/Community Presentation was held on May 5, 2021 at 6:30 pm in the Ballston Spa High School Library. It was broadcast via Google Live Stream and on the district’s Twitter feed. The video from the  hearing is posted HERE.

The annual statewide School Budget Vote and Board of Education Elections will be held on May 18, 2021. Additional information is posted HERE.

Voters will consider three propositions on the ballot at the polls on May 18, 2021. The first is the district budget ($94,927,725), the second is for school vehicle replacement ($948,000) and the third is for the annual support for the public library ($59,840). There are also two candidates running for a seat on the Board of Education, incumbent Jason Fernau and newcomer Timothy Turbiak.

Please continue to visit the district website for additional details on the budget vote and/or call the district’s budget hotline with specific questions for the Assistant Superintendent for Business at 518-884-7195 ext. 1320.
