About Mrs. Forgea
I am very excited about being your child's first grade teacher. I love first grade!
I would like to tell you a little bit about myself as I will play a key role in your child's education. I have a Bachelor's Degree in School Social Work from Siena College, as well as, a Master's Degree in Elementary Education and Reading from Russell Sage College. I have been teaching in the Ballston Spa school district for 22 years. I began my career as a student teacher in 3rd grade at Malta Avenue. I have taught in various grade levels; kindergarten, third grade and fourth grade. I began teaching first grade, here in Ballston Spa, in September of l998.
I would love to know more about the first graders in my class. I would invite you to write me a note or letter about your son or daughter. No one knows them better than you do. Your personal insights about how your child learns best would be very helpful to me. You could email me a@ email@example.com or send them to in with your child during the first week of school. Thank you in advance for taking the time to introduce your child to me.
I look forward to working with my first grade families this year. Please do not hesitate to contact me with questions or concerns. Remember, if an issue seems important to you, then it is important to me. I would much rather have you call me or email me so we can talk about your concern and ease your mind. The quickest way is through school email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I can check emails throughout the day when I have a chance. You may also call the Main Office at 884-7290, ext. 3385, and leave a message. My phone messaging system needs to be reset, so until I return in September, please leave a message with the secretary. I will return your call as soon as I can.
Also, your child will be receiving a very special note from me during the last week of August. Please hold on to the letter and have them open it the night before starting first grade. When they open the note you will see why I have asked you to wait until the night before first grade.
Thank you in advance for helping to make your child's experience in first grade a positive one.
