This year, in addition to my classroom management plan, Wood Road is implementing a school-wide approach to preventing and responding to school & classroom discipline issues. This program helps to create and maintain a safe learning environment for all of us. It is called "PBIS". This stands for Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports.
Within my classroom, I believe and try to instill "getting caught being good". In other words, postive praise and recognition and giving extra attention to the positive actions of students rather than reacting to mostly negative. We recognize and build on positive peer leadership and working together as a team.
Within our classroom, one main belief is that "no one is perfect, and we learn from our mistakes."
Be Safe - Be Respectful - Be Responsible
Students have learned what it looks like to be safe, respectful, and responsible in all areas of the school. Students will be praised for positive behavior and rewarded with “Scottie Bucks”.
