Educating Everyone Takes Everyone

  • Pennies Collected for Donation

Wood Road's Penny Harvest leaders collected the pennies from the annual Penny Harvest and brought them to SEFCU. The pennies will remain at SEFCU while the student roundtable discusses how the donation can be used to benefit a local non-profit. The students will narrow down a list of non-profits, and the entire school will then vote for an organization to receive the donation. The donation is presented in May. Penny Harvest has proven to be successful in educating students in service learning, financial literacy, and 21st Century learning skills. This program teaches students about the importance of philanthropy and service as well as teaching math, communication, and team building skills.
