Educating Everyone Takes Everyone
Good afternoon, Ballston Spa Elementary School families. We hope you had a restful break. We want you to know how happy we are to have our in-person learners back in the buildings and our remote learners back in their virtual classrooms after the Winter Recess. We would like to share some information regarding our elementary school schedule changes starting the week of March 1st. While we typically are sending communications on Thursdays, we are sending this today due to some of the changes that are noted. Please review the information below and contact your child’s school with questions you may have. Sincerely, BSCSD Elementary Principals
The Ballston Spa Central School District is excited to welcome the class of 2034! To prepare for Kindergarten student registration this spring, a Kindergarten Parent Orientation night will be held on March 10, 2021 from 6:30-7:30pm. For everyone’s health and safety, this year’s orientation will be held virtually utilizing a video conference meeting format. Anyone with an incoming Kindergarten student who has not already contacted us is asked to call the Registration Office at (518) 602-0256. Registered students/parents will receive additional information about the meeting including the links to the presentation before March 10, 2021.
Students attending the three elementary schools on the Wood Road School Complex will be dropped off in the back of their school using the rear access road. All cars will enter from Route 67 and proceed north on Wood Road around the school buildings. Parents have been assigned an arrival time between 9:00 and 9:30 AM and should look for the designated drop off zone behind their child’s school. Students will be met at their car by staff members who will direct them into the building. Please watch the video.
In order to keep our Ballston Spa schools safe during Covid-19, the District has chosen Pinpoint Health to use as our wellness screener. Parents will be receiving an email or text from Pinpoint Health on Thursday, September 24, 2020 with more information.
Today we are sending you a few updates for your attention including new information on Friday in-person instruction at the elementary schools, Positive cases of COVID 19 in the schools, Reporting of cases, and Updates on Sports, Communications and Kindergarten Registration. The USDA has made breakfast and lunch available at no cost to all students. Our food service continues to prepare FREE meals for all students in the district- for both in-school students and remote learners. Families of remote learners are able to pick up at Gordon Creek Elementary School twice a week.
