The Mathematics Department at Ballston Spa High School offers a variety of programs ranging from Pre Algebra to Advanced Placement BC Calculus. Our courses are sequenced and scaffolded in an effort to maximize students’ success and understanding of the world of mathematics. Students will be immersed in technology and expected to think both critically and analytically to arrive at solutions. Teachers in the Mathematics Department are highly dedicated to their students and work tirelessly to meet the needs of each student and see that each student reaches their full potential.
“Mathematics is not a careful march down a well-cleared highway, but a journey into a strange wilderness, where the explorers often get lost. Rigour should be a signal to the historian that the maps have been made, and the real explorers have gone elsewhere.” ~W.S. Anglin
All students must earn three credits in Mathematics to meet requirements for graduation with a Regents Diploma or Local Diploma.
