Video gaming is not just fun and games at the Ballston Spa Central School District.  Through the district's Partnership for Innovation in Education over 60 Middle and High School students will participate in weeklong summer enrichment programs focused on Designing Video Game Characters and Designing Video Game Worlds.  In addition, High School students have had the opportunity to enroll in University in the High School courses in Game Design & Play Experience and Digital Photography.  Senior Chris Peterson was recently recognized for his achievement in the course and his exhibit at Creative Endeavors in downtown Ballston Spa.

Mildred Elley, a private two-year junior college located in Albany, NY, has donated over $27,000 in in-kind professional development and scholarship support to enable the district to offer these innovative programs to district students.  Dr. Vlad Dolgopolov, VP for Institutional Assessment and Planning, recently was also recognized by the Ballston Spa Board of Education.
