Building
For Tomorrow - Middle School Addition and Renovation
Proposal
The Board
of Education started a Master Plan update in 2004 and
began to address the long-term needs of our buildings.
After many meetings, presentations, discussions and
input from a variety of constituents, they have approved
a building project to update the current middle school,
renovate current spaces, add shared space with the high
school and improve the parking and field space at the
Middle School/High School complex. The project will
address the academic needs of the middle school program,
which moved into the old high school with little
renovation or modification in 1998.
The
community is invited to attend any of several
presentations, including December 3rd at 6:30 pm in the
High School Library. Or attend a PTA
meeting in one of the schools, including a community
forum in the High School Library on December 1st,
at 7:00 pm before the start of the High School PTSA
meeting.
Speakers
are also available to visit community organizations or
neighborhood gatherings to discuss the proposal. Please
call 884-7195 ext. 329 to arrange a speaker or for more
information.
Registered
voters in the district will vote on December 11, 2008
from 7:00 am until 9:00 pm in either the Malta Town Hall
(residents of Malta) or the High School Library
(residents of Milton, Ballston, Charlton) at 220
Ballston Avenue.
