Ballston Spa Middle School
will be participating in the New York State Student Technology Leaders (NYSSTL)
project for the 2008-2009 school year. This program is funded
through a grant from New York State's
Enhancing Education
Through Technology
(EETT). Ballston Spa is one of 29 area
schools participating in the project.
7th graders will be
participating in NYSSTL's TechYes program through their 7th grade computer
class. The Tech Yes project is intended to ensure that Ballston Spa
Middle School students meet the National Education Technology Standards
upon completion of 8th grade..
A second part of the NYSSTL
project is GenYes. In this phase of the program, selected students
will be trained to be Student Technology Leaders (STL's). These
students will be working
together with teachers to
help them develop technology infused lessons as well as help
classmates prove their tech literacy which creates a community of 21st
century learning in our school.The
resulting collaboration provides the students with project-based learning
and the teachers with on-site, sustainable professional development
