Code of Conduct

1. LISTEN TO AND FOLLOW DIRECTIONS

Make sure you listen carefully. What the adults in school say to you is very important.

Pay attention. One of you most important jobs is to be a good listener and know what is going on.

bullet

When you follow directions carefully, it shows that you care about yourself. If you don't understand what an adult says to you - ask!

Remain silent during fire drills.

2. ALWAYS WALK

When walking in halls, stay to the right and respect that others are working.

3. USE SCHOOL PROPERTY CAREFULLY AND CORRECTLY

Dispose of litter properly.

bullet

Keep all materials and furniture neat and clean.

bullet

Keep bathrooms neat, clean and quiet.

bullet

Things that belong to the school should not be borrowed or taken without getting permission.

4. KEEP HANDS TO YOURSELF, NOT ON OTHERS

5. TREAT OTHERS KINDLY

Do not interfere with learning, your own or others

Try to be cheerful, even when you might feel bad. It always helps!

Help others follow our Code of Conduct.

Respect others students' feelings. Don't hurt others feelings with words or actions.

Keep hands, feet and objects to yourself.

Share you good ideas and thoughts with others.

5. USE GOOD MANNERS

Be honest

bullet

Use polite language when you work or play with others.

bullet

Take turns.

bullet

Remove headgear when you come inside.

bullet

When other students are working, respect their right to work by not disturbing them.

bullet

No gum chewing in school.

bullet

When outside, stay on walks, leave plants and trees alone and do not throw things. (snow, pebbles, etc.)

6. ALWAYS DO YOUR BEST

Come to school prepared - bring pencils, paper, erasers, crayons, and whatever else you need to do your work.

bullet

Be sure to always do your assignments, at home and in school.

bullet

Ask for and accept help whenever you need it.

bullet

Return homework, books and other materials on time.

7. DRESS PROPERLY FOR HEALTH AND SAFETY

Wear shoes that allow you to climb stairs safely.

bullet

Keep clothing neat and clean.

bullet

Dress appropriately for school. All logos and slogans appearing on clothing must be appropriate for a school setting.

bullet

Leave toys, radios, electronic games, etc., home, unless they are brought in for a special classroom activity.

In the Cafeteria

Follow the Code of Conduct

Sit on seats, not on tables

bullet

When waiting in line keep hands, feet, etc. to yourself

bullet

Raise your hand if you need to get out of your seat or need help.

bullet

Clean up your area - papers, crumbs, straws, etc.

bullet

Relax and eat.

In the Auditorium

Stay in your seat

bullet

Be polite by listening to the program, not talking with classmates.

bullet

Raise your hand if you need help.

bullet

Show appreciation at the end of an assembly by clapping (not stomping, booing or whistling).

On the Playground

Be patient and share.

bullet

Do not stand or walk too close to the slides.

bullet

Do not climb on top of tube slide or climb up either slide.

bullet

Do not run where the playground equipment is.

bullet

Watch out for others.

bullet

Older students should be considerate of younger ones.

Consequences for not Following Code of Conduct

bullet

Your teacher or another adult will speak to you about the problem.

bullet

You may lose a school privilege such as free time, going to a special event or playing outside.

bullet

You may not be allowed to eat with your class in the cafeteria.

bullet

You may have to take a note home to your parents telling them of the problem. It will ask you parents to sign the note and return it to school.

bullet

You may have to stay after school until 4:00.

bullet

For a very serious problem, or if it happens many times, your parents will need to come to school to talk about it with your teacher, you and the principal.
