If Ever There Was a "Win-Win" Situation

Last week started a new adventure for our students at Malta Avenue Elementary School. Students in fourth and fifth grade starting volunteering in the computer lab with our Kindergarten classes. The older students earn the privilege to volunteer. The student volunteers are chosen based on being prepared, organized and demonstrating responsibility.

The older students as well as the younger students have been very excited by this new adventure. You may ask yourself what is the "win-win"? Well, the older students become good role models and love being able to help the younger students. The younger students learn positive social interaction, see positive role models and they really look forward to their "big friends".
