PRE-ALGEBRA
GRADE ........................
9, 10, 11, 12
CREDIT .................................. 1 Unit
FINAL EXAMINATION ............ School
This course follows the same curriculum as Integrated
Algebra. Pre-Integrated Algebra will flow at a more relaxed pace, and
spend additional time spiraling between related topics within the
curriculum. Students in Pre-Integrated Algebra will take the required
Regents exam at the completion of the course. (2 years)
ALGEBRA I
GRADE ........................
9, 10, 11, 12
CREDIT .................................. 1 Unit
FINAL EXAMINATION.... NYS Regents
This course integrates the study of number sense and
operations, algebra, geometry, measurement, and probability and
statistics. Students will problem solve through reasoning and proof and
make connections to other related topics. Students will also formulate
multiple representations of solutions and ways to present them. This
course provides the preparation needed for the Regents exam, which is
administered at the completion of the course. (1 year)
GEOMETRY
GRADE ........................
9, 10, 11, 12
CREDIT .................................. 1 Unit
FINAL EXAMINATION.... NYS Regents
PREREQUISITE .... Integrated Algebra
In this course, students will use visualization and
spatial reasoning to analyze characteristics and properties of geometric
shapes. Students will learn to identify and justify geometric
relationships, formally and informally. Concepts involving
transformations and symmetrical relationships will be investigated and
applied to problem solving situations. Topics in coordinate geometry
will be explored and analyzed with respect to problem solving
situations.

APPLIED GEOMETRY
GRADE ........................
9, 10, 11, 12
CREDIT .................................. 1 Unit
FINAL EXAMINATION ............ School
PREREQUISITE .... Integrated Algebra
This course will generally follow the same curriculum as
the Geometry course. Applied Geometry will flow at a slower pace and will
spend additional time spiraling between related topics. This course will be
used to prepare the students for the NYS Geometry Regents over a two-year
period.
INTERMEDIATE ALGEBRA
GRADE ..................................
11, 12
CREDIT .................................. 1 Unit
FINAL EXAMINATION ............ School
PREREQUISITE ................ Sequential Math 2R or 2RA
This course covers selected topics from Sequential Math
3R such as algebra, geometry, trigonometry and solution of triangles.
SEQUENTIAL MATH 3R
GRADE ............................
10, 11, 12
CREDIT .................................. 1 Unit
FINAL EXAMINATION.... NYS Regents
PREREQUISITE ................ Sequential Math 2R average of 80 and
Math A Exam score of 85 or IA average 85%, teacher recommendation
Sequential Math 3R is a continuation of Sequential Math
2R and 1R. Algebra, geometry, statistics, probability, trigonometry are
studied in more detail than in Sequential Math 2R. Students are required to
have a TI-83 Plus, made by Texas Instrument, graphing calculator for this
course.
PRE-CALCULUS UHS
GRADE ..................................
11, 12
CREDIT .................................. 1 Unit
FINAL EXAMINATION ............ School
PREREQUISITE.................. Successful completion of Sequential
Math 3R and Math B Exam
This course is for students planning to take calculus or
planning to continue in a mathematics or science related field after
graduation from high school. Topics include conics, theory of equations,
functions, polar coordinates, matrices, sequences and series, and an
introduction to differential calculus.

CREDIT .................................. 1 Unit
FINAL EXAMINATION ............ School
PREREQUISITE.................. Successful completion of Sequential
Math 3R and a passing grade on Math B Exam
This course covers the syllabus of a college Elementary
Statistics course and includes such topics as standard deviation, line
regression, how to write a questionnaire, and how to interpret data.
Students will have the option of enrolling in the University in the High
School Program (UHS) through SUNY Albany. Eligible students will complete a
SUNY application and submit the tuition payment directly to SUNY. The
curriculum and grades are determined by the high school teacher. Upon
receiving a final grade of “C” or better, students will be awarded 3 credits
from SUNY.
CALCULUS AB OR BC – AP (ADVANCED PLACEMENT) OR UHS*

CREDIT .................................. 1 Unit
FINAL EXAMINATION ............ School
AB PREREQUISITE .... Pre-Calculus 11
BC PREREQUISITE ................ Teacher recommendation
The following topics are studied in Calculus: Analytical
Geometry, review and extension; differential calculus of algebraic
functions; geometrical and physical applications of integration; the
calculus of elementary transcendental functions; the application of
transcendental functions. Mandatory AP Examinations in Calculus AB and
Calculus BC will be given in May at cost to individual students. Upon
satisfactory completion of the AP Examination each student may receive
college credit in Calculus as determined by the collegiate institution(s)
accepting the student for admission. Eligible students will complete a UHS
application and submit the tuition payment directly to UAlbany. The
curriculum and grades are determined by the high school teacher. Upon
receiving a final grade of “C” or better, students will be awarded 3 credits
